This local patient in his late 20’s started researching online to explore a possible solution to his hair loss. After Google searches and reviewing some Hasson and Wong videos on YouTube, his conclusion was that a consultation at our clinic would be a good idea. It was determined on his visit to see Dr. Wong that his donor hair was above average and in good supply. Being a good candidate for either method of extraction, the patient opted for FUT. With an emphasis on rebuilding the hairline and frontal zone with additional attention to the necessary areas of the mid-scalp and crown, it was estimated around 4,000 grafts would be required. With hair loss running in his family on his dad’s side, progression to a stage 6 was likely in the cards. A combination of medication and surgery would provide the best cosmetic impact for both the short and long term. The procedure consisted of 791 single hair grafts, 2,556 double hair grafts and 586 3-4 hair grafts for a total of 3,933 grafts. His newly restored hairline and increased density to the appropriate areas resulted in a more youthful appearance and achieved his goals. He was very pleased with the outcome and was happy to stop by the clinic to show Dr. Wong his progress. These photos were taken 10 months post-op on a follow up visit.
