This middle aged Vancouver area patient started noticing hair loss in his late teens. Hair loss can affect one’s self esteem and as can be the case with many patients, as his hair loss became more prevalent, his life was being adversely effected. On the verge of doing something about his hair, a friend who also had a procedure with Dr. Hasson, recommended he employ the services of Hasson and Wong. This also helped convinced him to move forward with a hair transplant procedure. In order to properly frame the face and achieve the desired cosmetic impact, a fair amount of temple reconstruction was required in addition to restoration of the hairline and frontal zone. Temple work is often recommended in similar cases where donor hair is sufficient when the sides in addition to the hairline have also receded. While technically difficult, temple reconstruction in many cases can substantially enhance the result. It is critical when having temple reconstruction that your surgeon has the skill, technology and experience to properly restore these areas. An extensive understanding of hair direction and the ability to incorporate the lateral slit technique with custom sized blades is essential to control angle and direction of hair. While it is always important to precisely control how the hair exits the skin while transplanting anywhere on the scalp, it is perhaps most important in the temples where any deviation from the correct angle can be more unforgiving and noticeable.
Dr. Hasson and team completed the transformation using 4586 grafts using the FUE method of extraction over consecutive days. 2277 grafts were extracted on Day 1 consisting of 250 single hair grafts, 1178 doubles and 849 3-4 hair grafts. 2309 grafts for Day 2 included 200 singles and 2109 doubles. The patient is extremely happy with his transformation and now has a whole new confidence and outlook on life. He is very proud of his results and has recommended Hasson and Wong to anyone inquiring about his transformation. More of his story and experience will soon be presented in a video testimonial. He also mentions how great the feeling is of having the wind blow through his hair in the new car he bought for himself. These photos were taken 2 years post-op.
