In his mid-20s, this Vancouver-area patient began noticing hair loss. Now in his late 20’s, a colleague recommended our services, and he scheduled an in-house consultation to explore his options. During his first visit, Dr. Hasson evaluated his donor hair, which was found to be above average in density with an average texture. Dr. Hasson subsequently estimated that a 4,000-4,500 graft FUE procedure would achieve his desired cosmetic results. The hair in his mid-scalp and crown areas was in relatively good condition, so finasteride was prescribed to maintain and potentially improve those areas.
Ultimately, 4,511 grafts were harvested to restore his frontal zone and parts of his mid-scalp. On day 1, 2,501 grafts were transplanted to address the frontal zone, using 300 single-hair grafts, 1,933 double-hair grafts, and 268 grafts containing 3-4 hairs. On day 2, 2,010 grafts were placed behind the previous day’s work and into the mid-scalp, consisting of 1,677 double-hair grafts and 333 grafts with 3-4 hairs. A 0.85 mm punch was used for extraction. These photos were taken just over three years post-op.
